Police authorities have arrested seven individuals linked to the murder of spouses Arvin and Lerma Lulu, who were shot and killed in Santo Rosario, Mexico, Pampanga, on October 4, 2024.
A coordinated effort by law enforcement units, including the Mexico Municipal Police Station, Pampanga Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), and 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFC), led to the arrests on October 13 and 14. Key suspects, Arnold Taylan, identified as the gunman, and Arnel Buan, his backrider, were apprehended in Nueva Ecija.
Statements from Taylan and Buan enabled authorities to track down five more suspects: Robert Dimaliwat, Rolando Cruz, Jomie Rabandaban, Sancho Nieto, and the alleged mastermind, Anthony Limon. Investigations revealed that Limon, an online seller, had a Php 13 million debt to the couple, providing a potential motive for the murder.
Authorities seized nine firearms during the operation, including three 9mm pistols, five .45 caliber pistols, one .22 caliber rifle, and an air gun.
PBGEN Redrico A. Maranan, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, praised the dedication of the police operatives, reaffirming the PNP’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims. “We are committed to leaving no stone unturned in this pursuit of justice for this heinous crime,” Maranan said.
