CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – A young lawmaker of Bulacan graced the 439th founding anniverssary celebration of the province Tuesday by saluting the soldiers and policemen who are fighting for peace and freedom from evil forces out to wreak havoc in the country.
First District Rep. Jose Antonio “Kuya Jonthan” Sy-Alvarado also stressed the province of Bulacan will continue to produce heroes especially when the nation needs them.
Magat Salamat, gat. Marcelo H. Del Pilar, Gen. Gregorio del Pilar, Maestro Sebio (Eusebio Roque), Gen. Isidoro Torres at marami pang iba hindi lang sa panahon ng mga kastila, panahon ng amerikano at panahon ng hapon, kundi magpa hanggang ngayon,” Sy-Alvarado, who was the guest of honor and speaker, said.
While he pays tribute to the soldiers and policemen fighting terrorists in Marawi, Sy-Alvarado said there is still a more “clear and present” danger that Bulakenyos should face—climate change and global warming.
He said that if Bulakenyos will unite and work together as one, they can achieve something that can mitigate the ill effexcts of climate change.
Earlier, Sy-Alvarado together with Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., led the offering of flowers at the statues of Gen. Geregorio del Pilar and Gat Marcelo H. Del Pilar in front of the capitol building.
Gov. Alvarado said that unity, courage and wisdom of the forebears of new generations of Bulakenyos has produced more men and women who gave honors, recognition and productive achievements for the province.
—EMIL G. GAMOS
