Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff General Carlito Galvez, Jr. who is a true blooded Bulakenyo will keynote the 440th Founding Anniversary of Bulacan on Wednesday at the newly renovated Provincial Capitol Building in this city.
He will join Bulacan officials headed by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s employees and thousands of Bulakenyos in the said activity.
August 15 was declared as a special non-working holiday in the province. Alvarado believes that Bulakenyos will have an ample time to remember and celebrate the importance of Bulacan Day in their own ways after the program.
The celebration will begin with a holy mass at 8 am to be followed by a flag raising ceremony, oath to the national flag and wreathe laying ceremony at the monument of Marcelo H. Del Pilar.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jaime Veneracion, a writer, professor and historian, will discuss a research on the date the province was established.
