CITY OF MALOLOS — It has been a yearly vow of the Provincial Government of Bulacan to give assistance to motorists that will pass through the roads of Bulacan during Holy Week.
Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado once again tasked the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to intensify its security measures for the devotees and vacationists this Lenten Season from March 26 to April 1, 2018.
PDRRMO has already coordinated with the concerned authorities regarding the designated location of first aid stations and assistance desks in front of the Capitol, at Brgy. Kapitangan, Paombong and at Divine Mercy Shrine in the town of Marilao while the public are assured of 24/7 assistance from the PDRRMO Operation Center.
Also, the PDRRMO – Bulacan Rescue Team, local government units and its rescue teams, Assistance and Rescue through Radio Communications for Emergency Situations and Traffic (ARREST), Kabalikat Civicom – Bulacan, Rescue 117, Philippine Red Cross, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, Rescue 247, Citizen Anti-Crime Assistance Group (CAAG) and Barangay Quick Response Team (BQRT) are already on alert for the upcoming Semana Santa Lakbay Alalay.
Alvarado said that an influx of devotees and motorists should be expected this Holy Week as Bulacan is known to be the ‘Gateway to the North’.
“Kami po sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ay gagawin ang lahat ng aming makakaya upang kayo ay alalayan sa nalalapit na Semana Santa. Hiling lang din po namin sa mga biyahero, motorista at mga namamanata na tiyakin din nilang maayos ang kondisyon ng kanilang mga sasakyan at mayroong malusog na pangangatawan upang makaiwas tayo sa posibleng aberya,” the governor reminded.
Alvarado added that in case of emergency, just call the Bulacan Rescue hotline 791-0056.
Meanwhile, over 100 people were given assistance by the province during the Lakbay Alalay last year.
