Candaba 3rd viaduct now open

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday, December 10, officially opened the Candaba 3rd Viaduct with a ceremonial drive-through alongside key officials, including Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) Chairman Manuel Pangilinan, and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) President Arrey Perez.

The new five-kilometer structure, part of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) network, is built between the two existing viaducts that connect Pulilan, Bulacan, and Apalit, Pampanga. Designed to address increasing traffic volumes, the viaduct is expected to enhance motorist safety and ease congestion, especially during peak travel periods.

Marcos highlighted the significance of the project as part of his administration’s infrastructure push. “The Candaba 3rd Viaduct ensures safer and more efficient travel for Filipinos, strengthening connections across Central Luzon,” he said.

The viaduct is considered a critical addition to the NLEX system, a major transportation corridor for commuters and logistics. NLEX Corporation said the project features advanced engineering for durability and sustainability, ensuring it meets the needs of future travelers.

Officials anticipate the new viaduct will significantly reduce travel times and improve overall traffic flow along the Bulacan-Pampanga corridor, benefitting thousands of motorists daily.
