PORAC, Pampanga — The lone daughter of Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil will run for vice mayor here.
During Monday’s flag raising rites in front of the Porac Municipal Hall, incumbent Vice Mayor Francis “Budoy” Tamayo said he will no longer seek re-election in the coming elections endorsing Ma. Jen Capil, who serves as current chief of staff of Mayor Capil, for the vice mayoral post.
Mayor Capil has personally picked Tamayo as his runningmate back in February 2021 because of his steadfast support to his administration as Porac councilor. “Metung ku mu pung simpleng anak at alang dakal a pera para lumaban,” Tamayo recalled.
Tamayo has told Mayor Capil that “position is not important because he is ready to serve his (Capil) administration in whatever capacity.” Tamayo became vice mayor in 2022.
“Angga pu king kapupusan naning terminu ng Mayor Capil at para kareng pamilya Capil, makatalakad yapu I Budoy Tamayo,” according to Tamayo. (Until the end of Mayor Capil’s term and for the Capil family, Budoy Tamayo will always be there for them)
VM Tamayo has endorsed Jen Capil for the vice mayoral position. “Pormal ke pung endorsu at pakilala ing tutuking vice mayor ning balen naning Porac, ing anak a pangane nang Mayor Jing Capil – Mam Jenny Capil,” Tamayo told the cheering crowd.
For her part, Jen Capil has accepted the endorsement of VM Tamayo saying she will pursue the notable development programs of VM Tamayo and Mayor Capil. “Metung kayu pu kareng menalakaran kang father ku,” Jen Capil told VM Tamayo.
Jen Capil recalled that only four members of the Sangguniang Bayan had supported his father back in 2019 and VM Tamayo is one of them.
She also said VM Tamayo had supported the education of Porac scholars numbering some 4,000 students.
“Ing pegdalanan na pung father ku metung yapu kareng pekamabayat a issue at eye rin pu likwan, dakal pung salamat Vice,” Jen Capil said. “Asahan yupu na reng mangasanting a program na asinimulan yupu ituluy ku pu ita.”
“I will not waste the trust that you gave to me,” said Jen Capil. She said the Porac councilors are not “traditional politicians” but “genuine public servants.” “I am also a fighter just like my father.”
Jen Capil is a Certified Public Accountant and has graduated Magna Cum Laude at the Holy Angel University. She is currently taking up law at the Ateneo de Manila.
Meanwhile, Mayor Capil said his daughter is willing to serve Porac town and his constituents under the banner “Bayung Porac” where various developments had been attained. Mayor Capil said the Porac LGU had faced various “challenges” but these only allowed “us to further improve public services as a local chief executive.”
“Our fight is not yet finished pero mabayat tutu ing kanakung delanan a kasakitan. Nung mayna mayna ya mu pu siguru ing mekaranas at daranas kening kanakung daranasan ayni baka bigay yapu pero balu kupu ena naman ibye ning Apung Ginu nung etamu agyu,” said Mayor Capil.
“My fellow workers in the government, my kabalens, my fellow Poraquenos, mag appeal ku pung pasibayu kekayu, sana pu alang bibili. From the start ing pengaku ku kekayu na dinan dakayung gubyernung matinu, mahusay, at atin takut king Apung Ginu ya pu ing binye ku kekayu anya makanyan taya pung agagawa ing (masanting) keng kekatamung balen,” said Mayor Capil.
Mayor Capil has also endorsed his daughter Jen to the government workers present during the flag raising rites. “Enakuman pu suguru marine mag endorse kekayu, ita pung kasabihan nung nanu ya ing punu ya ing bunga. Nung meging matinu ku, meging mahusay ku keng pamanungkulan, makanyan mu naman ing gawan na ning kekatamung next vice mayor,” said Mayor Capil.
“Ibye kepu ing kanakung anak para magserbisyu.”
