City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The Provincial Government of Pampanga, under the leadership of Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, formally recognized a total of 6,947 Lupong Tagapamayapa and Purok Leaders from various towns in the province for their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order at the grassroots level.

The volunteers were honored in various ceremonies organized this week in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Pampanga Police Provincial Office across the province. Governor Pineda expressed her heartfelt appreciation to them, acknowledging the sensitive and often challenging nature of their responsibilities.

“These community mediators serve as the first line of conflict resolution, helping de-escalate disputes before they progress to formal court proceedings,” the Governor affirmed, emphasizing her administration’s continued support for community frontline workers.

As part of the province’s early holiday assistance program, each Lupong Tagapamayapa received P2,000 cash assistance, dressed chicken, hotdog packs, and a three-month supply of maintenance medicines.

The gathering also served as a refresher session on the legal processes and responsibilities of the Lupong Tagapamayapa, particularly the steps involved in mediation and conciliation at the barangay level.
