LUBAO, Pampanga— 44 barangay patrol vehicles will offer free ride for employees returning to work here starting on Monday, May 18.
Mayor Esmeralda G. Pineda on Sunday held a meeting with the town’s COVID-19 monitoring and response team to set the schedules and routes of the free ride.
Route 1 vehicles will pickup passengers from identified cluster terminals, pass through the Jose Abad Santos Avenue and drop them off at the Salilungan Complex in Barangay San Juan in the capital, City of San Fernando.
The clusters of barangays for Route 1 are:

Route 2 will load passengers at the New Municipal Hall complex in Sta. Catalina, this town, then proceed to downtown City of San Fernando. The route will pass through the poblacion area of Guagua town.

Both routes will open from 6 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
Only a worker who can present his company ID or certificate of employment, and is wearing a facemask will be allowed to board the vehicles, Mayor Pineda said.
The mayor reminded the drivers of the barangay patrol service to help maintain social distancing and observe proper hygienic practices of all passengers inside the vehicles.
Mayor Pineda also warned them not to impose or accept payments of any kind from the employees who will avail of the free ride.
“Tinutulungan natin sila sa abot ng ating makakaya kaya sana huwag natin silang hihingan ng anumang kapalit sa serbisyong ibibigay natin,” the mayor said.
She also thanked Gov. Dennis Pineda for the assistance in mobilizing the barangays for the free ride for the employees who have returned to work as soon as Pampanga was put under a modified enhanced community quarantine.
