City of San Fernando, Pampanga — A total of 39 cancer patients from various parts of Pampanga received financial assistance from the Provincial Government, led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, in a distribution activity held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

The assistance forms part of the Capitol’s continuing program to support indigent patients undergoing cancer treatment. Each beneficiary received ₱15,000 in cash assistance and additional nutritional support, including milk supplements for pediatric cancer patients.

Moreover, the Pineda Family extended a separate donation of ₱10,000 per patient, bringing the total assistance per beneficiary to ₱25,000.

Governor Pineda personally led the distribution, taking the time to speak with each patient and their families, expressing her commitment to ensure that they receive sustained support during their treatment journey.

“Wala silang gastos—gumagaling sila sa tulong ng Kapitolyo at ng programa ng DOH sa JBLMGH. Nakikita naman natin na gumagaling na sila, at yung iba ay magga-graduate na,” said Governor Pineda.

According to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), beneficiaries receive ₱5,000 in monthly assistance, which is released on a quarterly basis to help cover treatment-related expenses.

In partnership with Jose B. Lingad General Hospital, the Provincial Government continues to provide free chemotherapy and medical treatment to qualified cancer patients.

“Masaya kami kasi kahit ganito ang kalagayan niya, marami pa ring tumutulong. Kasi kung wala pong tumutulong, hindi po talaga namin alam kung saan kami lalapit,” said Mary Joyce Canlas, mother of one of the beneficiaries.

This initiative underscores the Capitol’s commitment to accessible, inclusive, and compassionate healthcare for all Kapampangans, particularly those facing life-threatening illnesses.

Joining the governor during the distribution were JBLMGH Medical Chief Monserrat Chichioco, 4th District Board Member Kaye Naguit, and  PSWDO Officer Fe Manarang.
