Cardinal David calls for shame campaign vs corruption

MANILA — Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Cardinal Pablo Virgilio David on Tuesday, September 2, urged Filipinos to take an active stand against corruption by openly calling out those who misuse public funds.

In a social media post, David said the faithful, particularly the youth, must not remain silent but instead show their indignation toward corrupt practices.

He emphasized that fighting corruption requires collective effort and that citizens should “make their outrage known to everyone” to help instill accountability among public officials.

The prelate’s statement comes as fresh calls for transparency and good governance gain traction amid continuing public frustration over misuse of taxpayers’ money.
