Central Luzon police activates Ligtas Paskuhan 2021 for holiday season

Central Luzon police activated the IMPLAN 42 /2021 or Ligtas Paskuhan to address public security and safety concerns in the coming holiday season.

Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) OIC-Public Information Officer PMaj. Aileen Rose Stanger shared that a total of 3,000 police personnel were deployed in the region on December 16, 2021 until the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6, 2022 as part of the intensified police security.

“PRO 3 has a total of 12,000 police ready to be deployed especially in places with an observed increase in crime rate in the upcoming holiday season… The police will be deployed in full force… We are strictly enforcing the observance of minimum health standards as part of our Covid-19 mitigation efforts,” she said.

Police visibility will be intensified through foot and mobile patrols, as well as assistance desks covering all transport terminals, other places of convergence, business and commercial establishments, and places of worship to provide public assistance.

Also, Central Luzon police beefed up their security in public places, specifically shopping malls with the expected influx of people visiting the establishments.

“The police will deploy more personnel in public places, as many people are going out now. Central Luzon is now in Alert Level 2 and people are allowed to go to public places but we have to remind them to still observe the standard health protocols needed to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” Stanger reiterated.

She added that police troops are ready and always on call especially on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and policemen who are on vacation during the holidays are still instructed to report to the nearest police station.

In addition, PRO 3 reminded the strict implementation of firecracker ban this holiday season and vowed to make sure the provisions regulating, manufacturing, and distributing firecrackers will be strictly implemented.

“The use of fireworks is strictly prohibited for the safety of everyone and for a peaceful celebration of the holiday season… We have to be alert and vigilant in the coming holiday season as many are taking advantage. We are deeply asking for your support to smoothly reinforce our programs,” Stanger stressed.

PRO 3 has already presided a dialogue with manufacturers and dealers of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices relative to the implementation of Republic Act 7183, Executive Order 28 and Memorandum Order 31, which regulate the sale, manufacture, distribution and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
