CIDG, SBMA seize ₱9M fake TVs in Subic

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines – Authorities seized counterfeit television units worth ₱9 million in an operation at a company inside the Subic Bay Freeport on Thursday, February 6. The raid, led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), targeted Enjoy Electronics Subic International along Corregidor Highway, Ilanin West District.

Police Captain Jan Michael Jardin of CIDG said the operation was part of “Oplan Megashopper,” focusing on counterfeit goods. Armed with a search warrant, authorities confiscated 41 fake TV sets, along with 40 boxes of TV panel boards, 50 boxes of TV back covers, 25 boxes of TV motherboards, and other television components, totaling thousands of pieces.

Investigators also seized 313 TV front covers, 100 TV speakers, 310 power cords, 4,000 power boards, 24 bundles of TV packaging, and brand stickers. Delivery receipts linked to the sale of these counterfeit products were also recovered. The total value of the confiscated items was pegged at ₱9 million.

The company’s key officials—Treasurer Zuhai Huang and shareholders Wang Teng Teng, Huang Xiaoping, and Huang Wufa—remain at large. All are residents of Ilanin West District in the Freeport zone, and efforts are underway to locate them. The operation involved multiple agencies, including CIDG Pampanga, CIDG Bataan, SBMA intelligence units, and local police.

Jardin assured that the search warrant was served legally and peacefully, with company representative Anna May Robles and SBMA intelligence officers present as witnesses. The search was authorized by Judge Sheryll Dolendo Tulabing of RTC Branch 28, Manila, under the Trademark Infringement provision of Republic Act No. 8293.

The confiscated evidence was turned over to CIDG Pampanga for documentation and safekeeping. Authorities are preparing the necessary documents to file appropriate charges against Enjoy Electronics Subic International before the Prosecutor’s Office.
