The City College of San Fernando, Pampanga (CCSFP) joined the ranking of the Best Secondary Education Schools in the Philippines for 2017 based on therecent release ofsocial news and entertainment network Local Pulse.
The article featured only 57 out of 2,095 colleges and universities offering Bachelor of Secondary Education program in the country. CCSFP is the only school in the City of San Fernando that was able to enter the circle of the elite schools and universities by ranking 43rd.
Local Pulse states that rankings are based on the results of two licensure examinations for teachers (LET)in March and September 2017and other factors such as the level of accreditation and faculty-student ratio to find out which schools, offering undergraduate programs in secondary teacher education, have the most valuable degree programs to produce examinees with high LET passing rates.
CCSFP garnered an overall score of 56.52% with 52 LET passers for Secondary level. It has gained an overall passing percentage of 76.92% in March and in 84% September last year.
To date, CCSFP has already produced 315 graduates of Elementary Education and Secondary Education with majors in English, Mathematics and Biological Science.
In an interview, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago also the interim President of CCSFP, congratulated the students, teachers and school administration for their collaborative efforts in pursuit of academic excellence that made the institution nationally acclaimed.
“It is both a privilege and a challenge to be part of the top list but rest assured that we will continue to provide quality education to the poor yet deserving Fernandino youth. With the help of dedicated mentors, we will strive to produce more number of Education graduates who are competent to enter the academic workforce,” he added.
Meanwhile, Philippine Normal University led the list of the 57 outstanding schools followed by Saint Louis University and Philippine Normal University-Mindanao, respectively.
