City council honors retiring social welfare chief Joy Duaso

Councilors Jay Sangil and Atty. Arvin “Pogs” Suller presented a resolution commending Edna Duaso for her outstanding dedication and exemplary service to public welfare as she marks her retirement on November 30, 2024.

Duaso began her public service journey in 1982 and was appointed as Chief of the Social Welfare and Development Office (SWDO) by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. in 2021. Her tenure was highlighted by her vital role in addressing the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in relief distribution for affected residents.

The resolution acknowledges Duaso’s over four decades of unwavering commitment to public service and her impactful contributions to Angeles City.

Present during the presentation of the resolution were Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.

As Duaso steps into retirement, the resolution serves as a testament to her legacy in improving social welfare services in the city and her tireless dedication to the well-being of its residents.
