CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The City of San Fernando bested other divisions in the region in the National Achievement Test (NAT) overall ranking in 2018.
Based on the data released by the Department of Education, the city garnered the highest mean of the ranks obtained in the three levels of NAT including Elementary, Junior High School and Senior High School.
For elementary, the city garnered an overall Mean Percentage Score (MPS) of 43.33. This is higher than the regional MPS at 37.61 and national MPS at 37.44.
For both the junior and senior high school, the city’s overall MPS is also higher than the regional MPS at 47.21 and 36.89, respectively.
Mayor Edwin Santiago said the city government’s efforts in nurturing young Fernandinos in the education aspect have been paying off through these achievements.
“We spend so much time in educating Fernandinos. In fact, it is part of our legislative agenda because we know this is very important. We are very happy to be able to provide education to our youth, but it is a bonus to be able to excel in this field,” he said.
The local chief executive also commended the City Schools Division of San Fernando for its exemplary performance in the examinations, which are designed to determine the pupils and students’ strengths and weaknesses in the academic aspect.
