City officials, Beautéderm, donate ₱225K to Bale Balayan

ANGELES CITY — The Gayak Angeleño: Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 Charity Gala Night that featured ternos of local designers received ₱225,000 in proceeds from Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and certain individuals which will be given to Anak Bale Balayan — Museum for Poor Center Transformation.

Breakdown of the P225,000 is as follows: ₱50,000 from Mayor Lazatin, another ₱50,000 from Beautéderm Corporation President Rei Anicoche-Tan, and ₱25,000 from Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.

In addition, the event also collected ₱100,000 proceeds from private individuals.

The event is a joint project of the Angeles Guild Designer —organized by Marlon Tuazon, Rosette Ramos Biag, and Frederick Policarpio — and the city government, sponsored by San Miguel Beer Corporation.

This is to further assist the operation of the Bale Balayan, a museum conducting trainings in music and dance for the less fortunate members of the society.

The Bale Balayan, founded and headed by Peter De Vera, is located in Barangay Sta. Teresita. It has partnered with the city government for the music and dance training of children in conflict with the law (CICLs) housed at the city’s youth reformation center Bahay Pag-Asa.

“We are sharing a common goal with Mr. De Vera in transforming the youth through arts,” Lazatin said.

Part of the flagship program of Lazatin is to put emphasis on securing the future and welfare of Angeleño children, especially those in need of help.

“The city government will continue to provide programs for them, to bring them back in the community as productive individuals,” Lazatin added.

To recall, De Vera also vowed to train the CICLs on how to play local and Asian-inspired instruments.

This is also being offered to the other youth who joined the Bale Balayan.

Among the designers who were part of the gala night event are Mitch Viray, Bhraye Adefuin, RJ Guevarra, Rich Sabinian, Bryan Henson, Carl John Miranda, Manny Ocampo, Richard De Jesus, Jhune Angeles, Cholo Ayuyao, Philip Torres, Clarence Ayuyao, Glenn Pablo, Jojo Macapinlac, Tuazon, Ramos-Biag, and Policarpio.

The terno ensemble of the local designers were worn and modeled by the 18 official candidates of Mutya Ning Angeles, including Kassandra Mae Manlutac (Sapalibutad); Eingel A. Lumbang (Sapangbato); Cayle Valerie Galang (Cutcut); Lyn Sharyl Julian (Mining); Allana Kashi Delima (Sta.
