Clark hosts Inner Wheel 59th National Conference

CLARK FREEPORT — More than 800 members of a global women’s service and charity organization gathered in Clark to connect, share best practices, and discuss community empowerment projects.

The Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. (IWCPI) convened for their 59th National Conference at Royce Hotel on February 15-16. The conference also serves as a platform for IWCPI to recognize and celebrate the achievements of its members.

Representing Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, PMGen. Lina Sarmiento, CDC Vice President for Security Services, highlighted the importance of community service projects.

“Your community service projects support the youth, elderly, and marginalized sectors, enhancing the quality of life in the communities you serve. IWCPI’s focus on quality education, lifelong learning, and environmental sustainability mirrors CDC’s commitment to developing Clark as an inclusive, resilient, and environmentally friendly hub,” said Atty. Devanadera in her video message.

The IWCPI National Conference is an annual gathering of Inner Wheel Club members from across the Philippines. This year’s conference, themed “Heart Beat of Humanity: Every Beat Counts, Every Action Matters,” focused on strengthening the organization’s commitment to selfless service, friendship, and community development according to the program organizer.

Inner Wheel was founded in 1924 in Manchester, England, and has since grown to include over 100,000 members across 104 countries. The organization focuses on various community service projects, supporting women, youth, the elderly, and marginalized sectors through programs aligned with the United Nations’Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) according to its website.

In the Philippines, IWCPI is the national organization, with 1,700 active members from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. IWCPI’s mission includes promoting friendship, fostering understanding, and providing service to the community.
