Joint elements of the Criminal Investigation Division Group, Food and Drug Administration and the Clark Development Corporation have conducted a raid at a PhilExcel warehouse where Chinese nationals operating an illegal medical facility get their medical supplies and basic necessities.
The warehouse is linked to the two Chinese nationals who were arrested on Tuesday for treating COVID patients at the Fontana Leisure Parks inside the Clark Freeport Zone.
Operating the underground medical facility with 7-bed capacity were Mr. Ling Hu, 45 years old, alleged owner; and Ms. Seung-Hyun Lee, 38 years old, pharmacist.
The two Chinese nationals were taken to PNP Regional Office in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando pending filing of appropriate charges against them. The Chinese nationals did not get approval from the Department of Heath to operate the medical facility.
Found in the Chinese medical facility were medical wastes such as syringe that were not properly discarded.
It was not known, however, if the warehouse owner will also be charged along with the Chinese nationals.
The CDC had earlier put Fontana Leisure Parks on lockdown after the closure of the illegal medical facility. It said earlier “this illegal activity not only violates the law but also poses danger to individuals who potentially need medical treatment for the deadly coronavirus disease.”
The CDC is now currently probing the management of Fontana for having allowed the underground hospital to operate.
Hundreds of Chinese nationals are currently working in various online gambling operations inside the Clark Freeport Zone and nearby encompassing communities.
