Mr. President,
If your call for a corruption crackdown is genuine, then the flood control mess is just the tip of the iceberg.
Netizens are now demanding a broader probe—one that includes the multi-billion peso irrigation projects of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), where allegations of “ghost projects” have long haunted farmers and rural communities. Billions have been poured into irrigation systems that never reached the fields. No water, no canals—just vanished funds and growing mistrust.
This isn’t just inefficiency. This is theft with impact: failed crops, hungry families, and farmers buried deeper in poverty. And all while some officials enrich themselves behind paper trails and padded reports.
Why limit the investigation to flood control?
The same pattern of corruption, neglect, and cover-up exists in NIA. It’s time to audit everything. The people deserve to know how much was spent, where, and why they’re still waiting for promised water systems years later.
Civil society is watching. Youth groups are mobilizing. Netizens are loud and clear:
“Kung gaano sila kaingay sa impeachment ni VP Sara, gano’n din dapat sila kaingay sa mga nagnakaw ng bilyon-bilyong pondo sa NIA at DPWH.”
Mr. President, open the books. Name the guilty.
Clean water and dry streets should not be privileges—they’re rights paid for by the people. Now, give them the accountability they deserve.
