FIRST DISTRICT, Pampanga – Congressman Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has announced on October 19, 2025 that the construction work to complete the widening of Arayat Boulevard extending to Poinsettia Avenue in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City is already underway, having started a week ago according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office.
“Nakapagbaba na po ng additional P100 million pesos funding from DPWH para matapos na ang kabuuan ng Arayat Boulevard hanggang Poinsettia Avenue by year 2026 at nag-umpisa na po ang trabaho nitong nakaraang lingo,” Lazatin said.
Currently, parts of the six-lane road are still unfinished, particularly the portions extending to Poinsettia Avenue in front of Forest Park Homes and Kim’s Mall.
On October 18, 2025, Lazatin joined District Engineer Ocampo in the inspection of the on-going construction work in Arayat Boulevard and Poinsettia Avenue.
“Nakikita natin na malaking ginhawa sa mga motorista mula ng nabuksan ang additional lanes ng Arayat Boulevard, at siguradong mas gagaan pa ang daloy ng trapiko pag natapos na ang widening ng kalsada hanggang Poinsettia Avenue,” Lazatin added.
Also present during the inspection are Chief Adviser and DOTr Asec. IC Calaguas and Political Affairs Assistant I Mike Lising.
Back in August, Lazatin also announced that he is set to request the DPWH for P260 million pesos funding for the rehabilitation of all 173 day care centers in the First District in 2026 and P40 million pesos for the rehabilitation of Rural Health Units (RHUs) in Mabalacat City and Magalang Municipality in 2026.
