Cong Jon Lazatin commends young Pinay swimmers shine in AOSI 2025

Six-year-old Fayre Viveca Madera made waves at the 5th Asian Open Schools Invitational Swimming Championship (AOSI 2025) in Bangkok, Thailand, clinching a gold medal in the 50m Butterfly, silver medals in the 50m Freestyle Kick and 50m Butterfly Kick, and a bronze in the 50m Breaststroke. Her teammate, Althea Madera, also delivered an impressive performance, setting a new personal best and securing a Top 10 finish in her category. The international competition, held from February 6-9 at the Assumption University Aquatic Center (ABAC), featured top young swimmers from 19 countries across Asia.

Pampanga Representative Jon Lazatin personally congratulated the young athletes from Kuliat Elite Orcas Swim Club, commending their dedication and perseverance. “This achievement is a testament to their hard work and passion for the sport. We are proud to see young talents representing the Philippines on the international stage,” said Lazatin.

The success of Fayre and Althea in their first international meet highlights the growing potential of Filipino youth in competitive swimming. With continued support and training, these promising swimmers are poised to achieve even greater milestones in future competitions.
