A distraught 80-year old man who tested positive for coronavirus or COVID-19 committed suicide inside a private hospital in Angeles City on Friday.
The old man from Barangay Margot was apparently upset after having contracted COVID-19. He was admitted at the private hospital since June 13 and hanged himself after only six days in the hospital.
He allegedly used the dextrose line to hang himself while alone in the isolation room. Alone in the isolation room, an admixture of fear, loneliness, and unassurance creep in affecting one’s will to survive, according to COVID survivors.
Four of his immediate family members were taken to the City College of Angeles for a 2-week quarantine. It was not immediately known who will attend to the man’s burial when most of his family members were subjected to monitoring.
