The City Government of San Fernando (P), headed by Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, is currently celebrating the National Children’s Month with this year’s theme, “Isulong Kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Lahat ng Bata.”
The celebration was launched Nov. 7 during the regular flag raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds.
The Basic Life Support and Basic First-Aid Training for Early Childhood Care and Development personnel were held from November 2 to 3.
Children 5 years below shall receive gifts through the Share a Joy, Donate a Toy project of the city government. The public is also encouraged to donate new or old toys at the City Hall.
On November 11, an orientation on Early Childhood Care and Development programs shall be held at the Heroes Hall, this will be participated by private learning centers operating in the city. A feeding program shall also be held on the same day.
The city government will also participate in the provincial government celebration of Children’s Month at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on November 15.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office will organize a Youth Forum at the Heroes Hall from November 15-16. On November 17, the city will stage a Camp Bulilit at the Heroes Hall.
The public is also invited to attend the Regional Children’s Month celebration on Nov. 18 at the Trade Center, SM City Pampanga.
Meanwhile, members of the Local Council for the Protection of Children shall undergo training in Tagaytay City from Nov. 21 to 23.
A Freedom and Children Forum shall be held at the Greenhills Christian Fellowship, Robinsons Starmills on Nov. 28.
To cap the month-long celebration on Nov. 29, a Children’s Summit shall be held where Mayor EdSa will deliver his Annual State of the Children’s report. Simultaneously, the city will hold the 2016 Most Child-Friendly Governance Awards.
