In an aim to effectively implement waste minimisation, Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center (MTCMC), a Mount Grace Hospital in the City of San Fernando, underwent waste audit on May 23.
This was conducted through the initiative of Health Care Without Harm, an international nonprofit organization that seeks to transform healthcare facilities into community anchors for sustainability and leaders in the global movement for environmental health and justice by reducing their environmental footprint.
Councilor BJ Lagman, who authored the Plastic-Free ordinance in the city, was invited as guest speaker wherein he shared the city’s best practices in solid waste management.
Also present during the activity were MTCMC’s staff headed by President Rhais Gamboa and members of Health Care Without Harm Asia led by Faye Ferrer, the coordinator of Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Program of the said organization.
