Tthe City Government of San Fernando through its City Environment and Natural Resources Office, launched‘Talakayan sa Villa’ at Davsan Subdivision, Brgy. Sindalan over the weekend.
With the theme, “Pagkalinga sa Kalikasan at Kapaligiran, Kaligtasan ay Makakamtan”, the program was attended by the Homeowners Association and residents of the said subdivision.
CENR Officer Engr. Anele David said the aim of this activity is to inform the grassroot level, particularly those residing in subdivisions,on the different environmental programs and policies being implemented by the local government.
Highlight of the discussion are the best practices towards zero waste and the total ban of plastic campaign which was already implemented through the “Plastic-free” ordinance.
“Gusto din naming ipaalamsamgaFernandinona may mgaprograma at adbokasiya din tayongpinaiiral patungkol sa kalikasan, natalaganamang malaki angtulongsa ating lahat.,” she added.
For his part, Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago, stressed the importance of having community-based programs for these serve as venue for the constituents to raise concerns and issues in their respective areas.
“Gusto kong ilapit ang gobyerno sa mamamayan para maging katuwang ko kayo sa pag-abot ng kaularan dito sa ating syudad,” Santiago said.
The city mayor also added that in order to achieve a sustainable and livable city, it must start by protecting and saving the environment.
“Hinihikayat ko kayong lahat, na makiisa sa mga programa ng syudad na may kinalaman sa kalikasan. Dahil ang pagkakaroon ng malinis na kapaligiran ay siyang susi sa pagkamit ng asenso,” he ended.
Meanwhile, Santiago, together with CENR Officer David and Brgy. Captain Benjie Angeles, led the turn-over ceremony of a tri-bike to Davsan Subdivision for them to properly segregate their waste and maintain cleanliness.
