The Department of Trade and Industry Pampanga Provincial Office formally turned over a set of equipment for “suman” and “kalamay” production worth P400,600 to the City Government of San Fernando during Monday’s flag raising ceremony at the City Hall.
This is under the DTI’s project dubbed “Shared Service Facilities” which aims to improve the production of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises by providing machineries and tools to the association groups, academes and local government units.
The city has chosen the “Pagkakaisa ng mga Kababaihan sa San Pedro” (PKSP) as beneficiary to help them increase their productivity and efficiency in “Suman” and “Kalamay” making.
DTI Pampanga Provincial Director Elenita Ordonio said these tools will result to additional production that may help them respond to bulk demands especially during holidays or special occasions.
For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago thanked the DTI for their active support to the Fernandino entrepreneurs that contributes in protecting the lifeblood of the city’s economy.
