Some 600 Grade 6 students from both public and private schools in the City of San Fernando who graduated with highest honors, high honors and with honors in Academic Year 2016-2017 were recognized during the Mayor’s Academic Excellence Award held June 3 at the Heroes Hall.
Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago, together with City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Imelda Macaspac, led the distribution of certificates and cash incentives to the oustanding students.
In his speech, Santiago lauded not only the students for their hardwork but also the parents for their unending support and sacrifices.
Santiago also added that the City Government is always willing to help the students in their education since it is the administration’s top priority.
The recognition rites which now marks its third year was also attended by Assistant Schools Division Head Dr. Ronnie Mallari and Chief of School Governance and Operations Division Fernandina Otchengo.
