CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The city government signed a tripartite agreement with MYEG Philippines, Inc. and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), to beef up streamlining of its online business payment process.
Under the agreement, clients of the city will be able to pay at accredited electronic payment centers of MYEG Philippines, which can be accessed through mobile application or through convenience stores, groceries, supermarkets, and malls.
For its part, DBP will act as the settlement bank that will consolidate all collections received through the local government unit’s electronic services systems.
Mayor Edwin Santiago said the project will be an addition to the online payment for business application program which can be accessed through the city government’s official website, as well as the window transactions at the City Hall’s One-Stop Shop.
“The business sector is one of the proponents of a healthy economy here in our city that is why we continuously look for ways to make transactions faster, efficient, and hassle-free for them amid the call of modernization,” Santiago said
For its part, the City Treasurer’s Office ensured the systematic process as they will be issuing receipts to the clients.
City Treasurer Mary Ann Bautista said that the project, which is expected to be implemented in August, will bring more convenience to their clients.
“This will provide convenience for members of the business sector because they can now transact at the comfort of their homes. In turn, the City Treasure’s Office, through our active email, will confirm their payments and issue receipts to our clients,” Bautista said.
Said initiative is anchored on the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 which mandates cities and municipalities to automate their business permits and licenses system; as well as the e-Commerce Act of 2018 which promotes the usage of electronic transaction in government to deliver more efficient and effective payment and collection services to the public.
