CSFP inspects establishments’ compliance to health protocols

The Incident Management Team conducted random inspection to ensure that establishments are complying with the city’s infection control policy.

IMT Incident Commander and City Health Officer-in-Charge Carlos Mercado said the inspection came as a response to complaints received by the city government regarding non-compliance with the health protocols of some establishments.

“This inspection is a good reminder for establishments and individual residents because as we noticed, the public now seems to be complacent in dealing with COVID-19. Through this, we want to remind them that the virus is still there, that it is contagious, and worst, it can lead to death,” Mercado said.

Among the establishments inspected are malls, fast food chains, restaurants, government centers, and public places.

The group specifically monitored the implementation of the minimum health standards against COVID-19 in each establishment.

Those who failed to comply were given warning and will be under close monitoring of the task force.

The IMT also visited some barangays to ensure that health protocols are in place and peace and order is maintained.

City Local Government Operations Officer Marites Quillope said that aside from following health protocols, the task force also checked on how the barangays are preparing for the implementation of the road clearing operations, as well as how they comply with the other circulars of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

“Usually, Fernandinos are aware of the protocols. However, we should focus on people coming from other provinces. There is also a need to interface with other agencies so they know their lapses and the strategies they need to do,” Quillope said.
