SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ – The Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon continues to provide fuel assistance to farmers across Nueva Ecija to support mechanized farming operations.

On November 17, a total of 396 farmers from Science City of Muñoz and the towns of Talugtug and Lupao received fuel cards worth P3,000 to help cover gasoline expenses for their farm machinery.

The distribution continued on November 25 in Palayan City, where 147 farmers received similar assistance.

According to the DA, the selected beneficiaries are registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture and own farms ranging from 2.01 to 3.00 hectares that utilize machinery.

The fuel cards can be used at gasoline stations that accept card payments for fuel, diesel, or oil for agricultural machinery.

DA Central Luzon Fuel Assistance to the Farmers Project Focal Person Arwen Lacanilao stated that this initiative is part of the agency’s efforts to support farmers with their operating costs and to boost production through machinery use.

Layunin ng DA na mapagaan ang pinansyal na pasanin ng mga magsasaka at magsilbing tulong upang mapalakas ang kanilang kabuhayan at produksyon sa agrikultura (The DA aims to ease the financial burden of farmers and provide support to strengthen their livelihoods and agricultural production),” Lacanilao emphasized.

Fuel card distribution will continue in other municipalities across Central Luzon as part of the DA’s commitment to support farmers in need who continue using machinery for their agricultural activities. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
