The country’s Dancesports athletes garnered 5 gold and 1 silver medals in the South East Asian Games 2019 on Sunday, Dec 1, at Royce Hotel Clark.
Mark Jayson Gayon and Mary Joy Renigen got the 1st gold in the Waltz category, followed by Vietnam and Singapore.
Sean Aranar and Ana Nualla dominated in the Tango category, bagging the second gold medal. The silver and bronze medals were garnered by Vietnam and Thailand, respectively.
Aranar and Nualla also swept off the dance floor in the Viennese Waltz category, scoring the Philippines a 3rd gold medal, followed by Vietnam and Singapore.
Gayon and Renigen further won the fourth gold in the Foxtrot category, where Singapore and Thailand got the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
The couple also got the 2nd place in the Quickstep category. Vietnam clinched the gold medal, while Thailand got the bronze.
Aranar and Nualla bagged the 5th gold medal in the Five Dance category, followed by Vietnam and Thailand.
