MANILA — U.S. Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth concluded his visit to the Philippines by paying tribute to fallen American and Filipino service members at the Manila American Cemetery.

In a solemn ceremony, Hegseth emphasized the enduring alliance between the two nations, underscoring the sacrifices made in pursuit of shared security and stability.

“Our shared sacrifice continues to give relevance to our strong ties as friends partners allies committed to peace through strength,” he said.

The event was held in coordination with the American Battle Monuments Commission, which oversees the cemetery, home to the largest number of U.S. military graves from World War II.
