The total amount of P4,789,636.90 was generated by the Department of Education Region III through the Regional Fund Drive for the benefit of affected DepEd personnel in hard-hit areas of super typhoon Odette.
This amount is the highest among those generated by non-affected DepEd regions as reported by the DepEd Office of the Assistant Secretary for Field Operations S. Malcolm Garma.
The said Regional Fund Drive mobilized the associations of education officials, principals, teachers, and office personnel to send voluntary financial contributions to help DepEd personnel in Regions
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and CARAGA.
The donations were facilitated by the Central Luzon Association of Schools Superintendents (CLASS), DepEd National Employees’ Union (NEU) Region III Chapter, Philippine Elementary Schools Principals
Association (PESPA) Region III, Philippine Secondary Schools Principals Association (PSSPA) Region III Chapter, and the DepEd Regional Office III.
