City of San Fernando, Pampanga —2,735 Senior High School teachers teaching different academic subjects in Central Luzon are undergoing the 18-day mass trainings
being conducted by the Department of Education Regional Office III in line with the full implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program, particularly the Senior High School Program.
600 English teachers, 215 Filipino teachers and 63 ICT/Research SHS teachers were simultaneously trained on April 9-12 and April 17-30 held at Ann Raquel’s Hillside Resort and Hotel in Olongapo City, Otel Pampanga, in City of San Fernando, Pampanga, and Eurotel in Angeles City respectively. Meanwhile, 669 Science teachers and 366 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) teachers will be trained on May 4-6, 8-13, 15- 20 and 22-24. 348 Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) teachers and 474 Math teachers will also undergo mass training.
For the third batch of trainings, 285 SHS teachers teaching in the Technical, Vocational and Livelihood (TVL) track will also undergo mass training on May 18-24.
The mass trainings, which are intended for hired SHS teachers in the different subject groups, aim to equip the participants with the knowledge, skills and competencies in the different academic subjects and in the delivery of the different lessons in SHS.
Likewise, these trainings also intend to orient the SHS teachers with the different pedagogies and assessment relative to SHS, and to help them design lesson plans per learning area which shall culminate in a demonstration teaching session, after the walkthrough of the curriculum guides of the academic subjects.
Similarly, 9,611 Grade 6 teachers in Region III are currently being trained in their respective division-led Mass Training of Teachers, and 1,199 Grade 10 Araling
Panlipunan are also set to undergo the mass training.•
