DepEd RO3 trains Grade 11 and 12 teachers on Career Guidance Program

Angeles City, Pampanga — A total of 440 Grade 11 and 12 teachers shall undergo the Regional Training on Career Guidance Program conducted by the Department of
Education Region III on December 4-6 for Grade 11 teachers and December 7-9 for Grade 12 teachers at Eurotel, Angeles City.

The training aims to equip teachers with concrete understanding on the implementation of the Grade 11 and 12 Career Guidance Program to perform tasks to
effectively deliver the program to the learners. Likewise, the activities are in line with the implementation of Grade 12 of the K to 12 Program, in which the Career Guidance
Program aims to apply academic and employment readiness skills in work-based learning situations such as internships, shadowing or mentoring, and determine a clear
directional exit after senior high school.

The conduct of career guidance program is anchored on the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (RA 10533) Rule V entitled
Career Guidance and Counseling Advocacy which specifically stipulates in Section 17, the Career Guidance and Counseling Programs and in Section 18, Career Advocacy Activities.

The modules were rolled-out nationwide during the National Training of Trainers and Mass Training of Teachers and Career Advocates and shall be delivered by the class
adviser during the weekly Homeroom Guidance between August 2017 to March 2018.

The school heads/principals in close coordination with the school guidance counselors/coordinators/advocates shall ensure and supervise the implementation of
the Career Guidance Modules which include the following eight titles, Road to the Right Choice; Releasing the Power Within; Reaffirming the Chosen Track; Fit Me Right;
Rising Toward the Reality of My Dreams; Up, Up in the Ladder of My Career; Beginning the Journey Where I Am; and I Plan to Succeed.
As of November 2, the total number of Grade 12 students is 62,994 in public senior high schools, 70, 873 in private SHSs, and 8,488 in local or state universities and colleges.

These students will be the first batch of SHS graduates who will complete the SHS Program in 2018.
