A new chapter in local government service unfolded today as the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) officially opened its newest consular office in Olongapo City. The facility, located on the 3rd floor of SM Central, promises to bring essential services such as passport applications and renewals closer to the city’s residents.
Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. described the event as a “significant milestone” for the city and dedicated the achievement to the people of Olongapo. “Residents will no longer need to endure long journeys to access these vital services. This is a victory for convenience, accessibility, and progress,” he said during the opening ceremony.
The realization of this project was a collaborative effort, with the mayor extending gratitude to various contributors, including BCDA Director Rolen Paulino Sr., Congressman Jay Khonghun, the City Council, PESO Olongapo, and SM Management. Their support and partnership ensured that the vision of a local DFA office became a reality.
“This milestone is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together,” the mayor added.
The new consular office is expected to serve not only Olongapo residents but also those from neighboring areas, providing a centralized and modern facility to cater to their needs.
As Olongapo celebrates this achievement, Mayor Paulino Jr. called on the community to continue striving for a brighter future. “Together, we can build a better, more accessible city for all,” he said.
