Passengers of the diverted flights to the Clark International Airport (CRK) line-up for the buses that would take them to NAIA in Manila. A total of 14 flights were diverted to Clark after a Xiamen Airlines aircraft skidded and overshot the runway at NAIA. At least 1,900 passengers of the diverted flights deplaned and were served at the Clark airport. “CIAC, the airlines and the agencies involved were ready for such an event and responded accordingly,” Alexander Cauguiran, CIAC chief, who was at the passenger terminal himself to oversee the operations, said.
