CABANATUAN CITY – The Department of Health (DOH) Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD) has called for a united effort of communities, health workers and local government units to ensure safe pregnancies and childbirth.

DOH CLCHD Family Health Cluster Head Janet Miclat said mothers’ and infants’ health and well-being rely on early and consistent prenatal care, access to skilled birth attendants, and properly equipped health facilities.

With this, she encouraged expectant mothers to undergo eight antenatal check-ups, give birth in health facilities, and attend four postnatal check-ups for a safer pregnancy experience.

“Let us work together to care for our mothers and secure a brighter future for our children,” Miclat said.

She also highlighted the need for awareness of danger signs during and after pregnancy, such as severe headaches, bleeding, or difficulty breathing, which require immediate medical attention.

Miclat called on local governments to strengthen their support by offering free check-ups, providing necessary vitamins and medications, and ensuring that emergency transport and skilled staff are available at all times.

Furthermore, DOH CLCHD continuously promotes maternal health to ensure healthier infants and contributes to the overall well-being of future generations. (CLJD/MCAL, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija GIP)
