DOH holds Regional Search for the Orally Fit Family in Central Luzon

TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Health (DOH) is holding a Regional Search for the Orally Fit Family in Central Luzon.

This is in line with the celebration of National Oral Health Month.

DOH Central Luzon Center for Health Development Family Health Cluster Senior Health Program Officer Madeline Gayle Tayag said the search is a new addition to the activities at the local level.

“Our goal is to promote oral health where every family member is orally fit and healthy overall. This can be observed at the very beginning, the first 1,000 days until the child reaches the age of two,” Tayag furthered.

Each province has its own representative to join the Regional Search for the Orally Fit Family who will be validated through their individual treatment record.

Criteria include 50 percent for compliance to oral health; 30 percent for compliance to other family health such as immunization, antenatal care, nutrition and other basic health; and 5 percent each for creativity; presentation and clarity; relevance to the theme; and reactions on social media.

Winners will be recognized on March 4.

Meanwhile, other activities this February for National Oral Health Month include dental missions, Sabayang Pagsisipilyo ng Pamilya, Search for Gandang Ngiti ni Baby at Nanay, Gandang Ngiti ni Lolo at ni Lola, Bandilyo sa Bayan o Barangay, and Poster-making Contest.

This year’s celebration carries the theme “Sa Healthy Pilipinas, Bawat Ngiti Mahalaga!” (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
