DOH partners with media campaign

ABUCAY, Bataan – About 70 media practitioners from various regions in Luzon participated in a media conference organized by the Department of Health (DOH).

The three-day conference, with the theme “Engaging Media for Health Literacy,” was spearheaded by the DOH Central Luzon Center for Health Development in collaboration with the Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital held at Pan Resort in Abucay, Bataan.

The conference aims to foster collaboration between the DOH and its media partners in order to strengthen public health literacy.

In his message, Bataan Provincial Health Officer Francisco Hermoso emphasized the importance of accessible health information through both traditional and digital platforms.

“This conference is not just about sharing topics and efforts. It’s about building stronger communication strategies and forging partnerships that will help us effectively deliver the right health information to the public,” he said.

Furthermore, Hermoso highlighted the role of media in advancing the DOH’s goal of achieving universal health care.

“We hope that this initiative will further fuel our pursuit toward the goal of a united Department of Health, advancing the realization of universal health care,” he added.

Meanwhile, discussions during the conference focused on key topics such as immunization and vaccine hesitancy, rabies prevention and responsible pet ownership, and cancer awareness. (MJSC/RGP, PIA Region 3-Zambales)
