CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Health (DOH) Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD) launched its “Ligtas Christmas 2024” campaign to promote safe and healthy holiday celebrations.

The campaign includes three components: BIYAHEalthy, Healthy Handaan, and Iwas Paputok, focusing on reducing travel risks, promoting mindful feasting, and preventing fireworks-related injuries (FWRIs).

Under BIYAHEalthy, the DOH emphasizes vehicle safety checks using the BLOW-BAG-SET method and advises motorists to avoid alcohol, stay alert, and follow traffic rules.

Healthy Handaan encourages the public to limit consumption of sweets, salty, and fatty foods, practice food safety, and avoid overindulgence in alcohol.

Meanwhile, Iwas Paputok promotes safer alternatives to firecrackers, such as community fireworks displays or using pots, pans, and coins to celebrate the New Year.

The DOH reminds everyone to keep emergency hotlines accessible and seek immediate medical attention for accidents. These efforts align with the agency’s goal of health crisis preparedness and disease prevention.
