TARLAC, Philippines – Officials from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) visited the future site of the Virology Institute of the Philippines (VIP) in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac on March 7, marking progress in the country’s push for advanced virology research.

The site inspection included representatives from the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Dr. Jaime C. Montoya, Executive Director of the DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), and Director Lita S. Suerte Felipe of the DOST-Department Legislative Liaison Office (DOST-DLLO), along with other DOST officials.
Once operational, the VIP aims to spearhead fundamental virology research, capacity building, and the development of diagnostic tools, therapeutics, and vaccines.
