DOT, Mabalacat City support Sports Tourism Awards

The Department of Tourism and the City of Mabalacat are supporting Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in hosting the 4th Sports Tourism Awards (PSTA) in Clark Freeport Zone.The Mabalacat City government has underscored the role of Clark and its host communities in boosting the sports tourism industry. 

The PSTA recognizes and honors establishments and organizations both in the private and government sectors in promoting tourism through sports activities. Now in its fourth year, the event will be held at the Clark Marriott Hotel on December 10, 2020, with limited attendance and amidst strict health and safety protocols. 

Presented by Selrahco, a public relations and marketing outfit specializing in tourism and sports marketing with full support from Smart Communications, Universal Robina Corporation, & Coca-Cola Philippines, The 4th Philippine Sports Tourism Awards will present 14 regular awards during the event, namely Sports Tourism Destination of the Year, Sports Tourism Organizer of the Year (private and government), Sports Tourism Event of the Year (domestic and international), Sports Tourism Sport Association of the Year, Sports Tourism Destination Marketing of the Year, Sports Tourism Hotel of the Year, Sports Tourism Event Sponsorship of the Year, Sports Tourism Charity Event of the Year, Sports Tourism Airline of the Year, Adventure Event of the Year, Sports Venue of the Year, and Sports Media Coverage of the Year, & two special categories for Sports Tourism Personality of the Year.

Clark has previously won the Destination of the Year award twice in 2015 and 2018 and thrives as a favorite venue for sporting events. During the 30th SEA Games in 2019, it hosted no less than 8 different sports namely archery, rugby,  petanque, dance sports, lawn bowls, baseball, softball and walkathons.

About 90 percent of Clark Freeport is found within the boundaries of Mabalacat City.
