The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the construction of a three-kilometer road in the coastal town of Dingalan, Aurora.
The project, located in Barangay Umiray, includes concreting the carriageway and shoulders on both sides, building stone masonry slope protection, constructing a lined canal, and installing reinforced concrete box culverts with wing walls and apron slabs to manage water flow and prevent erosion.
DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal emphasized that the improvements will support local businesses by making it easier to transport goods and services, thereby boosting the local economy and ensuring better access to essential services and amenities for residents.
“This road project is essential for enhancing mobility in Dingalan and will significantly contribute to the town’s accessibility, especially for our tourists,” he said.
The P93.6-million project received funding under the 2024 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Aurora)
