ORION, Bataan – As part of ongoing government efforts to enhance local infrastructure and public safety, more than 6,600 families in 1Bataan Village in Orion, Bataan now benefit from a newly completed multipurpose building that houses both a police station and a fire station.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructed the 211-square-meter, one-story facility to strengthen emergency response capabilities and improve the delivery of essential public services to the community.

“1Bataan Village is home to many families, including those affected by the 2019 Barangay Capunitan fire incident and other informal settlers, who are set to benefit from the new structure. This project strengthens the village’s safety infrastructure and ensures faster emergency response times,” DPWH Bataan 2nd OIC-District Engineer Roland Rainier Victorino said.

Funded under the 2024 national budget, the facility is equipped with comfort rooms, proper lighting, and adequate ventilation to support safe and efficient emergency operations.

The initiative reflects the DPWH’s continued commitment to building critical infrastructure that promotes public safety and improves access to emergency services for residents of 1Bataan Village and nearby communities. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
