CABANATUAN CITY – Students at Jorge M. Padilla National High School (JMPNHS) Annex in Laur, Nueva Ecija now have access to full junior high school education up to Grade 10 following the completion of a new classroom building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The one-story, two-classroom facility, funded under the Department of Education’s Basic Educational Facilities Fund, enables JMPNHS Annex to expand its offerings from Grades 7 to 9 to the full junior high school program.

Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Robert Jay Panaligan said the 191.25-square-meter building supports the school’s expansion, addresses the long-standing classroom shortage, and allows more students in Laur to finish junior high school without transferring to other campuses.

OIC-Assistant District Engineer Leonora Cruz added that the new facility helps reduce overcrowding and fosters a more conducive learning environment.

The P4.92-million project, located in Barangay San Isidro, includes ceiling fans, blackboards, a corridor, a comfort room, and a ramp accessible to persons with disabilities. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
