TARLAC CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the concreting of the 1.338-kilometer section of the farm-to-market road (FMR) connecting barangays Balanoy and Dumarais in La Paz, Tarlac.
The P11.76 million project implemented by Tarlac 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) involves the concreting of a two-lane road with a width of 5 meters and thickness of 0.20 meters.
OIC-District Engineer Hermon Ines said the infrastructure was funded under the DPWH-Department of Agriculture convergence program.
“Completed last August 31, residents and farmers in the area now have a reliable road network that enhances the mobility of people, agricultural products and services,” the official shared.
“We found out that prior to the completion of this FMR project, residents of the two adjacent barangays were enduring the narrow and oftentimes muddy unpaved road specially during rainy season hence increasing the risk of road accidents. The improved road now provides commuters riding comfort and has significantly shortened travel time,” Ines added.
Tarlac 2nd DEO is committed to construct quality road infrastructures that will ensure the safety of motorists and help boost economic activities in all areas under its jurisdiction.
