CABANATUAN CITY — Construction of a parallel bridge along the Pampanga River in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija is ongoing.
Department of Public Works and Highways Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said the 0.68-kilometer, two-lane Eliseo Trinidad Angeles Bridge will connect barangays La Fuente and Valenzuela.
It is designed to accommodate heavier traffic loads.
“In recent years, the aging Sta. Rosa Bridge already suffered damages especially on its deck. With the construction of the Eliseo Trinidad Angeles Bridge, we will not only provide an alternative route to motorists but it will also help improve traffic in the area,” Trinidad added.
OIC-Assistant District Engineer Robert Jay Panaligan explained that the first phase of the project has been allocated P182.99 million in the 2021 national budget for the construction of the bridge substructure.
“This is a multi-year project and the construction of the bridge substructure is expected to be completed this year, and we already programmed for immediate funding the completion of its superstructure,” he said.
