The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed concreting a 1.418-kilometer section of a farm-to-market road at Barangay Castillo in Concepcion, Tarlac.
DPWH Tarlac 2nd District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos announced that paving this two-lane farm linkage road has significantly improved the transportation of agricultural products to markets and other destinations.
He highlighted that the project has greatly benefited the local community and the agricultural sector by enhancing connectivity and accessibility for farmers.
This improvement ensures smoother and safer travel while supporting economic growth and local government efforts to boost productivity and quality of life.
In an interview, local farmer Marciano Infante expressed his gratitude for the newly paved road, emphasizing its positive impact on their daily lives.
He noted that it has reduced the need to walk or use boats during adverse weather conditions, making their efforts much easier.
“Ngéni pung mégawá né ing dálan, milulub nala ring traktóra angga king ásikan. É na kami mágkasákit ngéni. Dirétsu né ing óbra úling milulub nalá rin déng motór ampó pa ring saken, kaníta alí la (Now that the road is completed, tractors can reach the fields directly. Now, we won’t have a hard time anymore. Work will continue smoothly because motorcycles and vehicles can now pass through, which was previously impossible),” Infante shared.
The P14.85-million project was implemented in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, aligning with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to enhance agricultural development and support the sector as part of the government’s broader agenda to boost food security and promote rural development.
