DPWH enhances road safety in Floridablanca

To enhance safety and flood resilience in Barangay Dampe, Floridablanca, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed the ₱28.8-million repair of a damaged road slope protection structure along the Caulaman River.

The 237.4-lineal-meter project, implemented under the agency’s Flood Management Program, is designed to prevent erosion and potential landslides that threaten road infrastructure and nearby communities. It also promotes environmental protection and supports local economic activity.

District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. emphasized that the restored slope protection is crucial for safeguarding infrastructure and lives, particularly during the rainy season.

“This project strengthens our flood control system and supports sustainable development by reducing disaster risks and preserving natural resources,” Audea stated.

He added that the repair supports long-term environmental protection and aligns with national priorities for infrastructure resilience and community safety, noting that the project represents a vital investment in Floridablanca’s safety and growth.
